Attendance and Temporary Return to Home Country (In accordance with Article 12 of school code)

Attendance Assessment and Restrictions

① Tardiness: Every 2 times arriving late will be counted as one full absence
② Attendance Rate: In the case that the attendance rate is below 80%, you will not be permitted to complete the current semester and visa extension is also not permitted.[attendance rate = (attended hours/total class hours)*100]
③ In the case that a student is absent for 3 days or more without contacting the school, the student will receive a warning; a student who receives 2 warnings will face disciplinary action.

Temporary Return/Vist to Home Country During The Semester and vacation

① Temporary Return to Home Country During The Semester: As a general rule, this is not permissible. However, in the case that the trip is necessary and unavoidable, a student may visit the office and apply for permission through the appropriate procedure.
② Return to Home Country During Vacation: After the completion ceremony, a student may return to their home country and return to Korea no later than one day before the first day of the new semester.

Official Excused Absence: Official Excused Absence will be granted in the following cases:

① Death of Immediate Family Member: Maximum of 5 days granted
② Sick Leave: Maximum of 5 days granted
③ Official Invitation from University/Government Organization: Maximum of 3 days granted
* Official Leave may be granted upon presenting the relevant verified documents to the home room teacher; for cases which are not outlined above, it would be possible to apply for official excused absence after consulting with the main office.

Examination Score Evaluation (In accordance with Article 13~15 of school code)

Examination (Article 13)

① A midterm test (Week 5) and final test (Week 10) are held every semester.(The test date could be changed depending on situation of the school.)
② Each level may be required to take other tests in addition to the midterm and final exams.
③ After the exam has begun, entrance to the examination room is strictly forbidden.
④ Students who are absent on the day of the exam will receive 0 point.
⑤ As a general rule, make-up exams are not permitted.(However, if a student was unable to take the exam due to unforeseen circumstances such as illness, he/she may request a meeting with the administration and decide whether or not a make-up exam will be granted.)

Grades (Article 14)

① The grade given for each course is absolute evaluation (100 = full mark)
② The grade for each course includes marks for attitude in addition to the exam grade.(Attitude mark refers to attendance, homework and other items, which may vary by level)

Level Promotion and Retention (Article 15)

① If a student's average grade for the midterm and final tests is 70 marks or higher and his or her attendance rate is 80% or higher, he/she may proceed to the next level.
② If a student's average grade for the midterm and final exams is lower than 70, but his or her attendance rate is 80% or higher, then he/she may repeat the level. (It is possible to re-register the following semester)
* Even if a student's total grade for the course is above 70 marks, in the case that his/her attendance rate is lower than 80%, he or she will not be permitted to repeat the level nor re-register the following semester due to insufficient attendance.

Scholarship (In accordance with Article 16 of school code)

Scholarship for Academic Excellence

① Students who have achieved excellent grades and exhibited model behavior are eligible for this scholarship (The amount offered depends on the student's grade).
② The recipient of the scholarship must be enrolled for the following semester in order to be eligible.

Taking a Semester Off, Withdrawal, Expulsion (In accordance with Article 10)

Taking a Semester Off:

Taking a semester off from school is not permitted. (However, for particular cases, the director may make exceptions at his discretion.)
A student who is granted special permission to take leave must return to school within 3 months. If he/she does not return to school within 3 months, he/she will be expelled.


Students who wish to withdraw from the course before the end of the semester must visit the office and fill out a course withdrawal form.

Expulsion: Students will face expulsion from the school in the following cases

① If a student is held back for three consecutive semesters
② If a student's absence rate is higher than 20% of the total class hours for a course
   (When a student's attendance rate is lower than 80%)
③ If a student states that he/she cannot complete their studies due to physical weakness
④ While studying abroad in Korea, if a student engages in illicit financial transactions (money borrowing or lending), purchases a mobile phone under someone else's name, using a fake bankbook or causes harm to other students
⑤ If a student has received 2 official warnings during their enrollment.

Official Warnings (Article 17) : Students will receive an official warning from the school in the following cases

① If a student is absent for three consecutive days without giving prior report
② If a student temporarily leaves the country any time during the semester without receiving the appropriate permission
③ If a student cheats on his/her exam, otherwise takes the exam in a dishonest or illegal way, or reports false testimony
④ If a student disrupts the class, engages in defamation or libel against the school
