Requirements

A high school diploma or the equivalent is the minimum requirement for admission to our language course

Admission Process
 

Submit the required documents -> Receive the admission decision -> Complete tuition and application fee payment -> Receive the letter of admission -> Apply for a Visa -> Obtain the Visa -> Enter Korea ->Take the Placement Test and attend an orientation → Starting a course

<Registration Method by Nationality>

 

1. Japan, North America, Europe, Australia: Online application or send application documents by mail

 

2. Other: Send application documents by mail

Required Documents

Completed application form and study plan with photo

A copy of your passport

Certificate of your highest qualification

 

a. 1 copy of diploma or graduation certificate
b. Korean(or English) translation will additionally be requested in case your document is not issued in English, Japanese, or Chinese.
c. Some applicants from certain countries must notarize the certificate and receive confirmation at Korean consul before submitting it.

Required documents regarding a personal reference(Depending on nationalities)

 

a. Sworn statement of reference(specified form)
b. 1 copy of personal reference letter (specified form, notarized one)
c. 1 copy of reference’s resident registration and documents and documents proving reference’s financial abilities
※ Qualification of the reference : Korean national who resides in Korean and possibly help communication for the applicant well
※ The reference must visit the institute and submit the documents directly.

Confirmation of translator(specified form, submit it in case there is a translated document)

1 copy of Alien registration card(Foreign nationals registered in Korea only)

Certificate of attendance and academic transcript from most recent language school (Applicants enrolled in Korean language course of other universities only)

Payment Methods

Tuition fee (per term) : KRW 1,450,000
* Text book fees(KRW40,000~KRW65,000 in each term)are not included.

Application fee :The amount of fee depends on each situation as below.

 

① In case you apply for visa approval as a group through Hongik university KRW 100,000
② In all other cases excepting the case① KRW50,000

Withdrawal / Refund

Full refund: If a student withdraws from registration before the beginning of a given term, or if the student’s visa is not issued by the visa office, a full refund will be granted.

Partial refund: If a student withdraws from registration within 1 week from the beginning of a given term, 70% of the tuition will be refunded. If the withdrawal occurs within 2 weeks from the beginning of a given term, 50% of the tuition will be refunded. After this, there will be no further refunds.

No refund policy: a. If a student’s visa is C-3 or D-4 approved with the Hongik University letter of admission, no refund is allowed after a term has begun. b. All application fees are non-refundable.

Attendance

Students need to receive more than 80% attendance rate in order to complete the course and extend a visa

Evaluation

There are 2 exams (midterm and final exam) in a term that evaluate writing, reading, listening and speaking skills. If a student receives less than 70 points on average, he/she cannot move on to the next level.
